I don’t let the disease define me. I take control of my body and health. I’ll show you how to do the same.

My own journey into personal training isn’t a typical one.

I studied Sports and Exercise Science at Essex University, gaining my Bachelor of Science Degree. Following on from that, I studied for a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of East London and became a high school PE teacher.

I worked as a PE teacher for 5 years, but during that time I fell ill with Crohn’s disease, forcing me to take 5 months off work and ultimately, leave the teaching profession.

As a sufferer of a bowel disease, I went back into study. I wanted to see if I could help my own condition with an effective nutrition strategy.

As I learned more and experimented with my own health, I fell in love with the idea of helping other people to improve their own health by embracing a lifestyle where fitness and nutrition play an important part. I became a Personal Trainer, determined to use my knowledge to help other people improve their health and fitness.

By combining my background as a teacher and a first-hand experience of a life-changing illness, I’m in a uniquely helpful and understanding position. A Personal Trainer’s job is to educate, but also to show empathy. As a qualified and experienced teacher, I know how to educate. As a sufferer of a serious illness, I know first-hand what it can feel like to be a prisoner to your own health.
